Platforms and Runtime Dependencies

A concise map of Linux/macOS/BSD/Windows/Android targets and optional build/TLS/SQLite dependencies, without duplicating installation steps.

Targets

Targets named by the source

PlatformSource information
LinuxAn install.sh target; README says the JIT is enabled by default only on Linux x86-64.
macOS and BSDListed in the quick-build targets and platform-specific linker flags.
WindowsAn install.sh target; README describes MSYS2 UCRT64 or PowerShell/install.ps1 and placing the OpenSSL DLL beside the executable for HTTPS.
AndroidListed as a cross-build target using --target android and CC; this page does not promise all features on every Android device.

The existing /install page remains the single source for exact installation steps; this page only summarizes targets and dependencies.

Dependencies

Build and runtime requirements

ComponentWhen required
C compiler (gcc or clang)Build only; README does not require make.
OpenSSL 3 / libsslHTTPS and WSS only; loaded at runtime when available. Plain HTTP/TCP works without it.
git 2.xRepository-backed package commands such as add/install/update/publish; running installed programs does not need it.
SQLiteEmbedded when source files are available during build; otherwise system libsqlite3 is used at runtime.
JITOptional; builds can disable it with -DSOLAN_JIT=0.

Flags and linked libraries vary by platform. The existing install page includes prerequisite setup and install.sh/install.ps1 instructions.
